Mordon's Lament

In 1298, the Expeditionary Force headed to the cursed forest: The Capricosia Forest. While there, they fought against a cult of Destruction, the Forgers. Across the three days they spent there, they started to hear music playing from the area - it was a set of memories from the Goddess Mordon.

(The music was written and recorded by the Four Pillar Ref Team, with special guests on Will You Teach Us: Jei, Dominic, Calum, Ciaran.)

Purpose Fading[]

Song 1: Purpose Fading (Music: Oscar, Vocals: Alessa)
Purpose fading, Potential lasting

Waring breaking, Unable to win

I am created, reformed anew

My love created, travel down to

Mordon comes into existance in the Purpose realm. They remake their form, and are united with their love.
The Null Realm, we plan to fight

Corporeal, Divine and Right

Something’s here, we didn’t know before

What are these beings, do they know of our war?

They travel down to the Null Realm, but discover some beings there that the Purpose Mythics had no idea about...
Are they… mortal?

Reasses[]

Song 2: Reasses (Music: Oscar, Vocals: Alessa)
This is amazing! Mortals are brilliant!

They’re so creative! Making their own blueprints!

This one makes their clothes, While these find food to eat

They work together, They live in harmony

My mind is racing, how could we not know

These mortals are amazing, How far can they grow?

Mordon is overjoyed to learn how creative these Mortals are, marveling over all the work they do.
Should we even mix in with their lives?

Is it right for us?

Should we take a step back, Reassess all that

We have planned?

However, Mordon ponders the ramifications of getting involved with these beings: Should she mix with them? Or should she take a step back and reasses their plans.
But They’re so fragile, They slow, but never stop

They grow and they learn, They spread and take it all

Today they build homes, Tomorrow? Anything!

They’re the best of us, They will soar, on their wings

They will never cease - to be amazing

Show me now how you will - create everything!

Mordon observes the Mortals, seeing that they grow old, but their desire to continue never wanes. She is sure that they will go on to do great things!
Should we even mix in with their lives?

Is it right for us?

Should we take a step back, Reassess all that r

We have planned?

What am I Doing here?

What are our Plans for them?

Can I really

Befriend These Mortals

Mordon again thinks on her mission here, and starts to wonder if she really can bridge this gap and befirend the Mortals?...

Against Potential[]

Song 3: Against Potential (Music: Oscar, Vocals: Alessa, backing vox: Oscar)
I’ve come here with-a-purpose, We must win against these odds

I must make weapons to fight against Potential

My Goal is clear-to-me-though, I must keep these mortals safe

I must make weapons to fight against Potential

Mordon remembers back on her task: to make weapons to fight against the other Mythics: Potential. However, she also resolves to keep the Mortal safe.
I know Reality is fickle, I can bend it to our will

I must make weapons to fight against Potential

I’ll alter all existence, Draw on Mana from the void

I must make weapons to fight against Potential

She starts to bend reality, molding it to her desire. She draws on mana from the void to power such weapons; weapons that must be made to fight against Potential.
We cannot let them win though, They pose too much of a threat

I must make weapons to fight against Potential

But It’s my righteous duty, The very Reason that I am

Do I have to make weapons to fight against Potential?

Mordon knows that the Potential has to be stopped, it was the whole reason she was formed: to make a way to deal with these Mythics, but even she wavers, wondering if she has to.

Will You Teach Us[]

Song 4: Will you Teach Us (Music: Oscar, Vocals: Alessa, Mortals: Jei, Dom, Calum, Ciaran, backing vox: Dom)
Mordon! Won’t you teach us?

We’re stuck here in the past. Can we upgrade our homes, And make them last?

Mortals! I will teach you!

Repurpose your homes. Sow the Mana through its body and through her bones!

Mordon! Won’t you teach us?

This distance is a struggle. How can we traverse our land? Please ease our troubles?

Mortals! I will teach you!

Make the Roads of Haste. They’ll take you anywhere you want, true and straight

The Mortals start to ask Mordon to teach them how to build and create greater tech with magic. Mordon happily teaches them how to upgrade their homes to allow for mana to flow through it easily, and how to create Roads of Haste, that helps with traversing great distances.
Create! And be!

That’s all I could ask of you!

So Make! You’ll See!

That’s all I could want for you!

Mordon wants the Mortals to learn and create, she's just happy they want to!
Mordon! Won’t you teach us?

We can’t sustain our homes. Our cities need more mana, What do you propose?

Mortals! I will teach you!

Deorum Torres. Store that mana, supply it all; Your Cities, they will live!

Mordon! Won’t you teach us?

How can we Survive? What if we need to fight, defend our lives?

Mortals! I will teach you!

How to make Weapons. Reality is fickle so, bend it to your whims

The Mortals then ask about a means to supply mana to their new ways of life, so Mordon teaches them how to make Deorum Torres, Towers of the Gods, that'll store and supply mana. Then they ask about defending themselves, so Mordon teaches them how to bend reality to their whims.
Create! And be!

That’s all I could ask of you!

So Make! You’ll See!

That’s all I could want for you!

That’s all I could want for you!

Mordon reiterates that she just wants the Mortals to go out and create! That's all she could possibly hope for; them to follow in her image.
People from across the sea? The Collective has called to us.

They want us to visit them, To learn of Deorum Torres.

They want to learn how to make these Towers to the sky

Lets go help them, Teach to them, It’s our duty to try

Mordon gets an invite from across the vast sea from a group calling themselves The Collective. They want to learn how to make these Deorum Torres, these great towers that store and supply mana. Mordon, of course, wants to go and teach them!
Their Leader is strange to me, They sparkle like the stars

But they want to learn from us, and we’ve come so far!

So take my heart in hand, build the Tower tall

If only I had known back then, I had doomed them all...

The Leader of The Collective is odd; she sparkles like the stars, but The Collective wants to learn from Mordon, and she's just happy to teach them! However, the song ends with her lamenting this meeting, expressing how she had just doomed The Collective.

A Mistake[]

Song 5: A Mistake (Music: Oscar, Vocals: Alessa)
It’s been a while since we met with them; The Collective across the sea

They’ve refused to talk with us, We decided to leave them be

The Realm’s Mana is now slowly disappearing to their land

What effects will this have on us, Should we take a stand?

The Collective has stopped all communication with Mordon and her friends. They decided to leave them be, but after time passed, mana from the realm started to disappear, or rather was being gathered in their lands. Mordon is unsure what the effects of this will be...
They have built the Towers of Gods, I can feel it in my heart

But they have corrupted them, Perversed every part

The Collective’s goal’s a mystery, But what can I do?

I’m at war against Potential, I can’t fight this one too

The Collective built many Towers of Gods, but they did something to them, corrupted them, and now they are acting strangely. Mordon struggles to make a decision because of her duty as a Purpose Mythic, and the on-going Mythic War.
Something’s wrong in this realm, the mana is hard to drawn on

Even my own power Is drained, it’s nearly all gone

My friends, the Huángjīn Empire, they told me not to worry

They said they would handle them, teach them of their folly

After more years pass, even Mordon is having issues drawing on theit power and the mana, noting that it's nearly all gone. Mordon's friends, the mortals she had been living among, the Huángjīn Empire told Mordon to not worry, that they would deal with this situation.
The Huángjīn sent a single boat. Will this be enough?

One person to calm millions, is this just a bluff?

No.. wait. What is this I sense... A Weapon of Reality??

They can’t plan to use it… They’d Kill them, I have to stop–

The Huángjīn sent one boat with a single person on board to deal with The Collective, but Mordon is sceptical. However, when it's too late, she realises that that one person was carrying a Reality Weapon. Before Mordon can do anything, it is detonated, resulting in a cataclysmic explosion, before the world cuts to silence.

Wastes[]

Song 6: Wastes (Music: Oscar, Vocals: Alessa)
Just like that, and it’s done.

There’s nothing left, except these wastes

Now They all dust, they’re all dead

And We are to Blame

So many - voices gone

Hundred Million, blinded faith

Our war - has now spread

And I am to...

Mordon stands in the Wastes that were left behind after the Reality Weapon's activation. Over 100 million people died in that instant, and Mordon blames herself.
Now I must take responsibility

It should never have gone this far

I can’t make up for their mortality

I should have never come this far

She knows that she has to take responsibility, and that she will do something, anything, to make it right.
I must fix this

I will wake It

I will ask it

Please save them all

We will break them

We can’t risk it

Please stop us from

Killing the Mortals

Mordon resolves herself to awaken It. She decides she must ask It to step in and stop anything like this from happening again - Mortals are too important, and too fragile for Mythics.
I see Death on a Scale Unmeasurable

I see Purpose and Potential

I say Cease, this war is Devastating

No more will you hurt mortals

Mark my words, they are Everlasting

No more Weapons of Reality

Mortals aren’t your Collateral Damage

For this forsaken War you need

It speaks, decreeing that there shall be no more uses of Reality Weapons. Mortals shall no longer be hurt in the Mythic War, it's voice echoing in the void.
