Four Pillars Wikia

Very little is known about this mysterious land, situated far to the north across the ocean. It is believed that it may be the original homeland of the human species, who immigrated to the continent of Vitaelum over eleven thousand years ago.

Current Status[]

Over the last hundred years, traders from Huángjīn Xīwàng have begun visiting Ásaterra's shores, although they are reluctant to talk about their homeland. The goods they trade vary from silks to teas, to vegetables and fruits, and the items they take in return are eclectic at best. However, they are also one of Ásaterra's main suppliers of steel and talisman crafting components.

They have also sent ambassadors over this time, although these ambassadors have been mostly closed mouthed about their homeland. What little is known is that the ambassadors have travelled from The Court of the Moon (Yuèliàng Gōngtíng - 月亮宫廷), which is ruled by three empresses, each in a different stage of her life. These empresses are elected for life.

History[]

Ásaterran historians have found no records of Huángjīn Xīwàng before the year 2000BU, when they are believed to have made contact with the newly formed City States based in what is now Northern Ásaterra. During the Age of Magic, Xīwàng agents helped Supplicantem escape from Treth and start a new life in the City States, although it is believed that some may have crossed the sea and been welcomed into Huángjīn. Records spanning the ~1500 years Huángjīn spent in close contact with the City States indicate that not only were the Xīwàng more technologically advanced that the people of Vitaelum, but that they were more advanced magically as well.

However, after the destruction of the City States by Treth, Huángjīn Xīwàng became more and more reclusive, until it cut itself off from Vitaelum completely. Despite this, many Xīwàng decided to stay in Ásaterra, and it is common to see those of Xīwàng decent in Ásaterra today.

Recent History[]

On the 11th of the Corn Moon, 1298, a message was broadcast across all of Vitaelum from an unseen force:

"Citizens of Ásaterra. It has been long since you have heard our voices, but our eyes have been watching. Through either great evil, or great folly, you have recovered something that was never meant to be recovered. You do not know the danger that this item poses. We beg you: Reseal away this Reality Weapon, or else return it to us so that we might seal it away for you. We have seen the Devastation that it has caused before, and we would not have that wickedness inflicted on this world again. We have known this evil, and we strive to free ourselves of its curse and live in peace, as we have for over Eleven thousand years. We beg you; do not release this weapon back into the world. We wish to offer you peace. But if you will not offer the same, we will be forced to break out Ten Thousand years and destroy you, as we did those who came before you. This is not our wish. This is merely the last resort of those who have seen this path before. We beg you. Resist the lure of power and make the right choice. We do not want your people’s blood on our hands again."

After this message, the High Council of Ásaterra released the following statement:

"The message from Huángjīn Xīwàng should not be worried about. They have lost an item and we have been tasked with retrieving it, which we shall do. There is no danger, and we would like to ask that everyone remains calm - no harm will come to us. If you have information on something suspicious, please pass it on to a Lawkeeper immediately. The item is a small Black Box, something that you might keep old knick-knacks in. If your information should lead to the retrieval of the item, you shall be paid 10 gold as a reward - though under no circumstance should anyone approach this item."
